BillWatch Privacy Policy

BillWatch (“BillWatch,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is designed to help users track bills and subscriptions
by analyzing email messages only after the user explicitly authorizes access. We take your
privacy seriously and design BillWatch to collect and use the minimum data necessary to
provide its core functionality.
This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how it is used, how it is stored, and
your rights regarding that information.

1. Information We Collect
   1.1 Email Account Access (User-Authorized Only)
   If you choose to connect an email account (such as Gmail), BillWatch may access:

• Email message headers (sender, subject, date)
• Email content needed to identify bills, renewals, or payment notices
• Attached invoice text only if required to extract bill information
  Important:
  BillWatch does not access email without your explicit consent.
  1.2 Bill Information Extracted
  From authorized emails, BillWatch may extract:
• Merchant or service provider name
• Billing amount
• Due date or renewal date
• Payment status (for example, autopay detected)
  This information is derived locally from your email content.

1. Device & App Information
   BillWatch does not collect or transmit any user information to external servers. All email
   information is maintained on the user’s phone and is not transmitted anywhere.
2. Data Storage & Processing
   3.1 On-Device Processing
   Email data and extracted bill information are processed locally on your device. BillWatch is
   designed to minimize server usage.
   3.2 Secure Storage
   Authorization tokens and settings are stored securely using platform-provided encryption. No
   plain-text passwords are ever stored.
3. Data Sharing
   BillWatch does not collect any user data and hence no data is shared with third parties.
4. Gmail API & Google Limited Use Disclosure
   BillWatch’s use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services
   User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Specifically:

• Data obtained from Gmail APIs is used only to provide user-requested features
• Data is not used for advertising or profiling
• Data is not shared with third parties
• Data is not retained beyond what is necessary for app functionality

1. Notifications
   If you enable notifications, BillWatch may send reminders such as:

• “You have upcoming bills”
• “A new bill was detected”
  Notification content is generated locally and may reference bill summaries.

1. Your Choices & Controls
   You can:

• Connect or disconnect your email account at any time
• Disable notifications
• Clear all stored data from within the app
• Uninstall the app to remove all locally stored data
  Disconnecting your email immediately stops further email access.

1. Paid App & Contact Limitations
   BillWatch does not collect your email address or personal contact details for marketing or
   outreach. App updates and important notices are delivered only through app store updates, in
   accordance with Google and Apple privacy rules.
2. Children’s Privacy
   BillWatch is not intended for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect data from
   children.
3. Changes to This Policy
   If this Privacy Policy changes:

• The updated version will be published within the app or app store listing
• Continued use of BillWatch indicates acceptance of the updated policy
